Did you know that brushing your animal’s teeth regularly can increase their lifespan by 3 years?

Dental disease is the most common disease of animals today. The American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) cites that most animals over the age of 3 show signs of gum disease. Studies show that as much as 85% of animals over 4 years have some form of dental disease.

Besides being a major source of life threatening disease, your animal’s teeth and gums can be a source of pain and suffering. Just like with humans, tooth and gum disease can be prevented by good oral hygiene. This includes daily brushing and regular preventative exams and teeth cleaning.

We know that for many the idea of brushing your animal’s teeth is difficult to imagine. But it’s really not that difficult and doing so can substantially improve their health and add years to their life. We are happy to show you how.

We also offer a variety of dental products designed and proven to aid with home dental care and dental health.

It is when tartar accumulates on the enamel of teeth that animals are at risk of gum disease. Tartar, or hardened plaque, contains bacteria that can spread under the gum line and cause irreparable damage. Ask us about a screening to test for disease causing (pathogenic) bacteria.

For dental cleaning it’s important to sedate your pet to keep him or her safe and comfortable during the procedure. We are happy to address any concerns you may have.
